How is this board meant to be used?

Perf/proto board feels like the next step up in between PTP and actual PCB and it’s only as ugly as you make it. For me it’s easier to translate a schematic into perf than Vero but that’s just me and I may just be dumb that way. Perf also offers a little more stability over PTP

I see you and highly approve of all aspects of your build

opinions for a pedal build for dobro player

If it’s not an actual guitar pup I would guess it’s most likely a piezo under the biscuit/bridge like an under saddle acoustic pup. At which point @phi1 would be correct that you will need to pay attention to the input impedance. I have run an acoustic with k&k style pickups (still a piezo) with...

opinions for a pedal build for dobro player

Let’s ask the question then what kind of pickup are you talking when you say “passive”, are we talking something like a contact/piezo/K&K, mic, or a standard wound guitar pickup?

opinions for a pedal build for dobro player

Any slide style guitar without some dirt/fuzz is lacking. But if all he is looking for is more louder then just build him an LPB-1 or go super fancy and build an Equilux

    Cigar Box Ruby Amps

Love the Ruby! Truly a fun little beginner project. Cigar boxes got expensive and scarce there for a while during the cigar box guitar/amp/purse era a few years back. Glad to see projects like these. They really don’t sound all that bad even.

Why does nobody use these outtie DC jacks?

I have used them in a few builds mostly for ease of potential troubleshooting but have rarely ever had to take advantage of that ability. I had to use one in the Shallow Water because of the space constraints. Frankly I just like the look of the smaller lumbergs and being able to use the power...

    Ocelot Sub Solo

You can plug the intelligent relay into the R1 pads either to add or break the clean. I think lifting pin 1 of the 4027 will remove the oct2 but someone needs to put eyes on the schematic besides me

I would expect a refund check to arrive and tariffs to disappear about the same time the Trump phone ships

    Ruby/Noisy Cricket Amp?

Don’t give up. I highly recommend putting some time in to learn how to read a schematic and start applying that to small circuits. Once you get that down it can help you troubleshoot those 4 “duds” and get them working. Don’t assume that because the Ruby and Noisy Cricket are simple circuits...

    Ruby/Noisy Cricket Amp?

I don’t know about any PCBs for these projects, but the Ruby is a great way to strengthen your ability to translate a schematic into a physical circuit either as point to point or vero. The Ruby is low parts count enough that if you fudge it up it won’t be a huge waste. Making cigar box amps...
