    King Nothing High Frequency Noise

Hi there, so I did reflow all the solder joints and checked for continuity - but i can't really find the problem. The voltages on the plates of the 12ax7 and the heaters look good too. I noticed some funky things though yesterday: If I power up the pedal without being connected to the amp...

    King Nothing High Frequency Noise

I'll do that. Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it. I'll report back whether I find the issue.

    King Nothing High Frequency Noise

It is 500mA. Do you have any idea why your other pedals don't behave the same? Could it be a cold solder joint somewhere in the Smps network? Even the Ambassador is working well with the same power supply, and it needs to heat up two 12ax7s.

    PCB Design Tube Pedal

Thanks The led is just improvised, I originally intended to light up the tube from below with a 3mm led but I didn't have any more tube sockets with holes in the middle. :)

    King Nothing High Frequency Noise

It is a standard 9v supply, I think it came with a Zoom pedal. I never had any issues with it. It also works fine with the other tube pedals. I'll hook the King Nothing up with my dedicated pedalboard supply and will report whether it makes a difference.

    King Nothing High Frequency Noise

Hi everyone, I built a King Nothing a couple of weeks ago, and it sounds great. However, I only recently noticed that when firing it up, there is a loud high frequency noise for about one minute, then it disappears. I am assuming it has something to do with the filaments heating up, but I am not...

    PCB Design Tube Pedal

Hey guys, just to report back. I largely followed Nathan's advice and ordered my first tube pcbs from jlcpcb. It arrived petty quickly and was an easy bulld. It is a Page clone, but I reworked the Design from above. It sounds great, no noise whatsoever. Pics below.

SOLVED PRO 10 Blue low output

Found the problem. One of the resistors had a red band instead of a brown one. Now it works perfectly. I think it is among my favorite BB style overdrives.

SOLVED PRO 10 Blue low output

Hey guys, I have a Pro 10 Blue build with very low, and somewhat gated output, but I can't seem to find the issue. I traced the signal path with an audio probe and everything seems fine until the feedback loop of the TL71. After R13 there is a significant signal loss which continues to pins 2...

    PCB Design Tube Pedal

Thanks, Nathan. I really appreciate it. I'll give it another shot then and will report back how it works out.

    PCB Design Tube Pedal

Thanks so much. I was hoping you were going to reply @vigilante398 :) I built three of your boards so far and they are all amazing (Ambassador, Diplomat, and King Nothing). I'll definitely adjust the routing width accordingly. In my attempts above I tried to move all power supply components on...

    PCB Design Tube Pedal

Hi everyone, I've got pretty obsessed with diy pedals over the last two years, and I ventured into tube pedals only recently. I've built the Matchless Hotbox, a JTM45 Preamp, and a clone of the kingsley page on veroboards and they all turned out great. However, I recently went down the rabbit...

SOLVED Modulation on Magnetron not working

Hey guys, I found the culprit. Chris was right all along. the problem was between pin 1 and 5 of the lm358. The ground connection of c19 had a cold solder joint. It is working properly now. Thanks for your help!

SOLVED Modulation on Magnetron not working

That's what I thought to, r20 and r21 are a voltage divider, right? That is why I assumed that the connection from r20 to r21 is broken, but when I use the multimeter it shows continuity. i could try Could it be the opamp? I ordered new ones and will try them out tonight.

SOLVED Modulation on Magnetron not working

"Without power" was meant in the sense that I unplugged the power supply. I'll post pics later today - work is just so crazy at the moment, but weekend is on the horizon :)
