    Parts Storage Solutions

I use the cardboard boxes that I get when I order components and PCBs. -Resistors are in order by ohm -Capacitors are grouped by value over the range of decades. -transistors, diodes, and mojo parts are in a small parts organizer with drawers -pots are in 3 bags separated by taper -jacks...

Help with getting into home recording - what do I need?

Reaper has bells and whistles in a different way. Tons of options and configurations, and a built in scripting language for writing plugins. And there’s no limit on the trial- you can try the full version out as long as want. But it’s $60, so I did buy it- eventually… Personally, I use Ableton...

Another plus is if you start using garageband, then update to logic pro, you can migrate your GB projects to LP.

Help with getting into home recording - what do I need?

Fun Fact: Bruce Swedien didn’t use compression on any of Michael Jackson’s vocals on Thriller. All the dynamics control was done in his vocal performance.

57s are classic for guitar tone. You could also look into a Sennheiser e609 if you wanted two different flavors of mic.

    Stupid Question Time— Modifying Code!

I got results from BinaryNinja on the first hex file. I'm assuming what you need is the 2nd hex file, since it's much larger. But I didn't succeed on that one https://dogbolt.org/?id=4259a3fe-1093-4792-9383-68eea1cac144

    FV-1 pitch

The only DIY-friendly polyphonic pitch-shifter project I’ve seen that can compete with commercial products as far as latency is schult’s project for the daisy seed: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/terrarium-polyphonic-octaves-code-demo.23453/

Help with getting into home recording - what do I need?

I recently upgraded my ancient AD/AC with a Presonus studio1824c. The price was decent and I’m happy with it. Part of the reason I picked that one is because it has DC coupled outputs, so I can do CV automation with my analog synth. Before that, I was using 2-input interfaces for about 20...

    Pro-10

I built one of these and tried it out on my board for a few weeks- took it to a few jams. I was able to get good sounds out of it. It felt appropriate for certain settings. But in my own music, I’m a major signal abuser. So not exciting in that context. I built mine in a 1590Q with individual...

    PPCB Dirt Dauber

Nice build. I agree- pedals with two footswitches are better 1590BB and up. I put mine in a 1590B so only one footswitch. This one is a lot of fun. It’s a great sound. While it’s not the cleanest at tracking, it is pretty good and the glitchy tones seem to behave predictably.
