Drill template units.

Never really thought ab it, and so long as you measure accurately it doesn’t matter the units, but out of curiosity, are PPCB drill templates measured in imperial or metric units? I tend to use metric since you get fewer trailing decimal points. @Robert ?

Imperial, but some of the newer templates that involve milling are metric because the precision is easier to work with (and reduces the amount of unit conversion from the mechanical datasheets).

It wasn't really a conscious decision to use imperial, it's just how the first layouts were done and everything else followed suit.

The metric values could be rounded without any issues but now that the measurements have become somewhat standard it's easier to keep going with imperial units. (0.65" vs 16.51mm, 0.8" vs 20.32mm, etc)

And now we know. Thanks
