I was looking at the Dwarven Hammer (Precision Drive) because it has favorable reviews from a metal drop-tuning perspective. The special sauce in that pedal is the ATTACK rotary switch. I looked at the schematic and it switches between different filter caps.
So then I was wondering about...
This is my first combo build. I wanted to do this because I have neither a blues breaker or an ODR-1, so why not do a pedal that has a good reputation for both?
I knew that I wanted the two sides to have the option of separate in/out jacks. But I saw folks having an issue with enclosure space...
I never owned a DS-1 because my friend had one and I thought it sounded like ass. Tube Screamers and Rats for me.
At some point I learned that there was a version that was considered good. So I found some TA7136Ps on ebay and then acquired this PCB.
Something’s up with the clipping diode...
The exploration of vintage circuits continues.
I’m kind of new to fuzz faces. I have this vintage Guyatone one, but it has too much mojo for regular use.
I went with the analogman one because why not have an external bias pot?
Shout out to @jjjimi84 for his tutorial video on biasing this...
It was serendipitous that the seagull mod thread was revived shortly after I picked up the PCB for this. Thank you @Feral Feline for the straightforward wiring diagram.
Not sure how much I’ll use it. Maybe only when I wanna get far out man.
I searched the forum for the orientation of the...
I was looking at alternatives to the IE0509S (111mA), and found RI3-0509S (333mA).
I have two more of these PCBs. I'm wondering if there's an option for my digital pedals (500mA), or if I just need to suck it up and finally buy a pedalboard power supply.
I thought I would try a UV print. The only problem is I don’t know what I’m doing . Graphic design tools are very foreign to me.
I followed along with the Pachyderm Pedals guide, but I must have messed up somewhere.
If anyone was willing to look at the attachment and tell me what is...
I wasn’t planning on building this anytime soon. I have larger builds in progress, and a few to troubleshoot. But I can procrastinate with the best of them, and checked to see if I had the parts for this.
I used 4001s instead of 4007s. According to my not-in-depth research it shouldn’t make a...
The P2P builds I’ve been seeing look fun. So I took my first crack at it.
If you’ve ever built the PPCB Schadenfreude, then you know. This is about the nastiest thing there is, but in the most glorious way. A PLL from hell. Not for doing harmonized monophonic synth sounds.
I tried to come up...
I’m going to build a delay for an artist. They want simple- a three-knob, not larger than a 125B. They said something like the carbon copy would be great.
I already have a ‘24 Skoolie on hand, but it feels kinda bad to bridge the modulation controls. But hey, maybe it’s not about how I feel!
I...
This is the 4th muff I’ve built. I still haven’t built any of the original EHX circuits yet.
This one is very good, I like it a lot. I spent a while A/Bing it with my Kewpie. While both are fun, I think the Kewpie won the comparison.
This one has hella bass though. Thinking about giving it...
Rainbow Barf. 🌈
Kind of like the Data Corruptor, I just had to try it. This one I could see using more often.
I was reading about the Rainbow Machine, and saw that it has intelligent switching for both stomps. Tap for latching, hold down for momentary. So at the last minute I decided to add...
I didn’t really have a need to build this, other than being an octave-up junky, and wanting one in a 1590B. For the longest time I’ve used a General Guitar Gadgets Ring Dinger- purchased back when you could by pedals from them.
It does the thing. And it’s ok at it. I thought it was worth...
I don't know if the Catalinbread Naga Viper MKII's input attenuator was implemented like what I did. But I thought it would be simple enough to add the input knob. The enclosure is Weston Gray 1590B from SBP.
This one was a doozy. I thought it would come right together, but I made a ton of...
This was originally supposed to be a xmas present for my brother. But I did something wrong on that terrarium board. I went to visit family this weekend, and thought “I can just rehouse and reprogram my terrarium for him”.
So before I left, I put my build into this tayda-printed Seed case. And...
After an unplanned hiatus, here’s the first in a batch of builds that are mostly done.
There’s a lot of praise for this circuit around here. I gotta say, I kind of love this thing- it can do mild, old-school, or super nasty mis-biased awesomeness.
My idea is to use two Caesar or Cepheid PCBs, and take inspiration from the Duo Phase.
So adding a switch for independent or shared LFO, and then a switch to invert the LFO on one side. Also adding the same switched jack wiring, where it can be used in series or parallel/stereo.
I’m open to...
