    Parentheses question about C15.

Thank you for the quick response! I appreciate it.

    Parentheses question about C15.

C15 on this build calls for a 30p. All I have is a 33p. Since I'm using an OP07 in place of an LM308, would this compensation cap even be needed? If so, is the 33p going to work (will it sound like a rat)? I hate not realizing I don't have a particular value until I start soldering. 😣 I...

    Eternal Burst (Lovepedal Eternity Burst)

I built a strip board version of this circuit months ago and fell in love with it. I like building scratch build versions of circuits to see if I like them. Just an FYI, I think this circuit stacks very well with the MDMA OD circuit (I paired mine with a stripboad version of the Wampler...

gain on Purple Plexi 800 circuit not changing.

gain on Purple Plexi 800 circuit not changing.

I just finished a version of the Purple Plexi 800. The gain pot makes little to no difference in the gain amount until the last (approximately) 10% of the rotation. It called for a B1k pot. What potentiometer (value & type) would you guys use to help better spread out the gain across the...

    Tayda Les Lius

I think I did, I'll have to open it up to be sure. Thanks for the info, I'll give this a try this weekend. I'm also gonna check on this Lavache. Thanks again.

    Tayda Les Lius

Thanks for the reply. The BOM called for a 2n5088. That's what I used. I have some 2n3904's, so I might give one a try. I'll also check my solder joints. I'm concerned lowering the gain might change the "voice" of the pedal but I'll give it a try. Where did you get your stripboard layout?

    Tayda Les Lius

Built one of these and really like the way it sounds! Very good alone and pushed with another overdrive. One issue I've found is a high pitched whine from the pedal especially if boosted. I can lower the gain and it helps but it does somewhat compromise the pedals ideal settings. Is there...

Six string stinger help (tone control)

Just wanted to post a follow up to this. I remembered that the tone stack on this circuit is basically a Big Muff style tone circuit using a high pass/low pass setup. I recalled seeing some info on modifying Big Muff tone stacks for different eq curves. I found some good info here; Coda...

Six string stinger help (tone control)

I am having the same issues with an Aion Effects Delta Amp Drive. It is the same circuit as the Six String Stinger. When I engage the pedal it's as if someone threw a blanket over my amp. Very little highs and way too much bass. As you turn the tone knob counterclockwise the bass and low mids...

SOLVED kind of a dream fuzz build...

I figured this one out. One of the pads had separated from the copper on the board. I found it using a sound source (little mp3 player, a 100nF cap, and an old meter probe). Worked from the input step by step until I got sound, and boom, there it was. Thanks to chuck d. bones for a post of...

    Delta Overdrive tone tweak.

I recently built a Aion Effects Delta Amp Overdrive. I really like the mild JFET breakup. My only complaint is the tone control isn't very balanced. It is a little bottom heavy. I could use a little more high end. What could I change in the tone circuit to help with gaining some highs...

SOLVED kind of a dream fuzz build...

Thanks for taking a look Buddythereow. If you look carefully, you can see the diagram on the pcb under the chip. The "notch" for each chip's socket was portrayed opposite of each other. Pin one on each chip is oriented the way the pcb diagram shows it.

SOLVED kind of a dream fuzz build...

BTW, to reiterate, when I strike the strings of my guitar hard, I get a "spurt" of sound from the pedal. Checked things with a diy audio probe and didn't find any failed components. I know I'm missing something, but it's got me stumped right now...

SOLVED kind of a dream fuzz build...

This is the component side. The labels on the pcb are the instructions. There is no schematic. I have verified component values 3 times. The IC on the right is a UA741. Please don't solder judge me. I had a heck of a time getting the pads on the board hot enough to flow solder well. Thanks...
