We have anything similar in kit form? Need a preamp/amp in a box or OD with tweakability to make a Laney VH100R more fenderish. I can't burn the Laney in a pyre, that would be my first choice.

Not really. Bought a PCB guitar mania tweed 59, sounds ok, but I don't really have any experience with the original. Atm I'm gigging with an Ampster from Carl Martin and still using my old Joyo American, PCB still in pre boxing phase. It's part of a mega build as seen in another thread.

When I see ODs which purport to sound like a BF Fender cranked I am a bit puzzled - does anyone actually like that sound? Occasionally I have heard some decent sounds from an overdriven BF Fender but on the whole I don't really get it. Cranked tweeds? Oh yeah! Cranked Vox or Marshall? Of course. But a cranked BF Fender which actually sounds good is rare IME. And I've had a few good BF Fenders. Beautiful cleans but use a pedal for dirt!
