Soldering a component directly into a socket

I have a couple socketed transistors that are loose and keep popping out.

I don't really need to swap them anymore, so will it work if I solder them directly into the metal holes of the sockets? If anyone has tried this, is it a lasting solution that will keep them in place for good, or should I just suck it up and disassemble the whole thing to remove the sockets?

Awesome, thanks!

It's for a build someone wants to buy off me, so I'd feel bad if it crapped out on them, but also I'm lazy

I tend to just hit them with some hot glue, but I'm also not sending them out into the world to be thrown around, so I can't confirm the reliability of this solution.

As ridiculous as this sounds, your post has just reminded me why I bought a glue gun in the first place. I swear I forgot why I bought it haha
