Hi all: Despite poring over the build document at length and noting that the tip and ground jacks are wired differently, it took me quite awhile to realise that I had (needless to say) wired them as I’d thought appropriate, not as the build doc specified. So, a fairly simple troubleshooting exercise to solve that particular problem. I still need to spend time biasing the CA3080 to minimise gate splutter but it does a nice job of taming excesses. The clip control accommodates active and passive pickups.
