Legit 2n1306?

Does anyone know where I can buy genuine 2n1306's and don't cost $10 each? The place I got mine from like 5 years ago is no longer around. Gonna try for a Toneczar Openhaus. I built Sabro's Lighthaus ( a bit stripped down version of the Openhaus) which I really really really like. Figure the full blown big dog I'll really like x's 4

I guess if worst comes to worst I'll build it and if I like it then the ones in the Lighthaus will find a new home in the Openhaus. BUT!! I still want a few more 2n1306 OR!!! if anyone knows of a good substitute for 2n1306

Genuine 2N1306 germanium BJTs are simply that expensive these days. They grow more and more scarce by the day.

Someone on these forums has stated that when it comes to Germanium, it's the specs that matter, not the part number.
What Ge trannys do you have? Can you test them for Iceo & hfe?

Checking/testing the leakage is a good idea too.

Chuck - And it just occurs to me that "Iceo" IS one of the leakage tests. LOL!
