J201s for Low Tide

Hey all...

Currently trying to get my parts order together for a few pedals including the Low Tide Modulator. I know from looking on here that legit through-hole J201 are hard to find, and a lot of people seem to use the SMD one.

Mouser currently has these (fairly expensive) through-hole interFET J201: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/106-J201
whereas StompBoxParts has the presoldered SMD to throughhole boards: https://stompboxparts.com/transistors/j201-smt-to-to92/

The through-hole one on Mouser is 3x as much as the pre-soldered SMD one from SBP, and i'm wondering if there's any benefit to going for the more expensive one on Mouser?

The TO-92 version of the J201 will work just as well as the SMD version. No particular reason to go with the more expensive Mouser parts. (IMO)

And FWIW, I have just over a hundred Fairchild J201s in the TO-92 package that I let go for 2 zorkmids each ( $4 S/H). All are tested and verified.
