Filling pickguard holes

So for this Bronco bass project I have going, has anyone ever tried filling holes in a pickguard? This came with some J style bridge and pup covers that I don’t intend to reinstall, but don’t want to buy or cut a new pickguard because……cheap. Was thinking JBweld, but am open for suggestions

I've had this bass for 15 years, it's just over 50 years old and still the holes remain. Honestly I never really think about the holes. All the best fender basses I ever played had the holes. To me, the only way to screw it up is to actually leave the pickup cover on.

Good call. Yeah, even IF I wanted them on there, the body is small enough that the don’t leave enough space to get a good playing angle

Just put screws in the hole. Smallest diameter wood screws that fit and match the hardware. Or the originals.
If it's just a cavity underneath, thread the hardware back on the back of the pickguard
