The Week on the Breadboard: Sabbra Cadabra

Here's mine, called the 'Black Box'. It rawks big time. Great stuff and very low noise even on full throttle. Tommi would be happy me thinks.

This Week on the Breadboard: Animals Diamond Peak Overdrive (with some mods, of course)

Wild thing. Great low to mid gains and pushing amp or other pedals to have here. Makes me heart sing. I used two 2n3903 as low gain trannies as I have a bunch of them. Sounds great to me.

The Week on the Breadboard: Chuck's Buzzaround

Buzz buzz here's my deranged Uncle Syd. It's ripping, unruly in a great way, in yer face and touch sensitive too, especially with fuzz dialed down and / or guitar vol down. Very cool and fun. Lots of shades of grind with the Timbre dial in connection of using tone pot on axe. I did implement it...

This Week on the Breadboard: The Yankee ScrewDriver Deluxe Turbo

What he said. I found the same with the circuit, the jump is more drastic when fuzz and midboost are lower.

What else is on the breadboard? - The Mona Lisa Simpson OD

Here's my Mona. Definitely a nice tight boost to low mid gainish affair, and the tightness helps to use this for crunchy rhythms on my Tele neck pickup without getting flubby. Stacks nicely in front of gainier pedals too. For Q3 I ended up testing two Russian GE and a 2N3906 silicon, they all...

    Opto-Coupler Tester

Here's my effort then, and it works as prescribed. I selected a J201 with Vp 1.103 and Idss 840uA ( long live the jfet tester... don't ya love it as well, I do, that I'm now into jfet testing and can throw measurements at ya @Chuck D. Bones haha...). The trimpot for 1Meg threshold needed and...

    Opto-Coupler Tester

Yes correct and I'll try a J201 will measure the Vp and Idss first, cheers. Yes I tacked four multi turn trimmer onto mini 4 way rotary, not pretty but it works, will post photos for a bit of light entertainment once I have it all going. Yes I got that with the toggle switch and works as wanted...

    Opto-Coupler Tester

I have just put this together and I can't get it quite calibrated to %v when I have the 1M resistor inserted into LDR test spots. I get it to 7.8 V, do I need another jfet with different Vp / Idss? And while I'm at it, I have installed rotary switch with four trim pots, to adjust those to...

This Week on the Breadboard: The Golden F**k

Here's my iteration, I went with the recommendations in post #4 and installed 3k9 in R11 and C15 to 1nF C16 to 15nF. Still might change the later R16 to 10nF for some more brightness as I find myself having the 'normal' channel dialed a bit low and the bright higher. Did the measuring of Idss on...

This Week on the Breadboard: The Celestial Screamer

Here's mine in the box. Certainly allows for a lot of tweaking of bass and treble content. I'm realising more and more that I'm not such a 'tubescreamer sorta guy' and dig more the jfet and combinations with Germanium drives which abound plenty luckily. And while there's good choices for sure...

This Week on the Breadboard: The Chubby Sammich

Love how you look under the hood of things and take the nonsensical stuff apart and do the panel beating. Will be interesting again to see where this goes!
