D3lay and Threeverb (Dual Pythagoras) build w/ video

Great! And thanks for sharing videos! ;) I would like to build a delay and a reverb with FV-1, maybe I'll try to build in two boxes. Later a version two in one. I have to decide which ones. For the delay I have to decide between D3lay adn Hydra Delay, and for the reverb I have to decide between...

    Boogie Monster squealing

I thought the same thing you thought. But, honestly, if you think that the first thing you can notice when the voltage is higher (at least it was for me) is that it became louder, it's easy imagine that all the stage push more. Another consideration is, if at higher voltage the stage push more...

    Boogie Monster squealing

I like the tone of my Dr. Boogie, I'm using a 9v PSU because I have just it. The only thing I don't like too much is the dynamic lacking, even if could be the nature of the effect. I have really little difference in distortion hitting the string soft or hard, and just setting very low the guitar...

    Boogie Monster squealing

If it was that, it's enough to try it with a battery, I think. If with the battery it's ok it's a power supply issue, and to solve it the circuit need a better power supply filter, or a different PSU. When I had this problem with my Dr. Boogie stripboard battery or PSU was the same.

    Ok, I was wrong. :p

    Boogie Monster squealing

I built the Dr. Boogie on stripboard, so it's another story, but during the test of the circuit out of the box it squeals awfully. I changed the 3.9k resistor with a 39k with the a 39k (with a 500k trimpot I had instead the stock 100k to get the 4.5v). This solved just at low gain setting the...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

I'd like to read the Hydra Delay schematic, too. I never build it, but I would like, because I want to build some modern delay/reverb effect with the FV-1. So, reading the schematic will help me to understand how that chip works and how I could modify the original schematic. The Bonnar Mult-head...

    PAL800 v3: the switches

Thank you. These are all things where I can take advantage in case I'll build this circuit. Anyway, I really think that the newer version, are basically the same schematic, but with something more. Even simple version of the PAL 800, the one without the second footswitch and the #34mod, has a...

    PAL800 v3: the switches

;) It's the sort of things I did. Except this: I'm not sure what is this thing you did. The 34mod I found adds a 220pF in parallel with a 100k in the first stage, the only step I have and you don't. In the jfet version is in parallel with the trimmer. I don't know why bypassing the first...

    PAL800 v3: the switches

I'm trying to emulate the circuit to find out how. Meanwhile, I tried to see what happens if I bypass the first stage going directly on the 470k/470pF: there's a big gain/volume loss, more than only 6db. Here's the schematic.

    PAL800 v3: the switches

Probably the schematic is still based on six transistors. At this point I'm really curious about the switches. «#34 Toggle Switch: This switch will allow you to achieve the famous MOD #34, a modification that can be made in a 1959SLP or JCM800 amp and that has been the main tone of one of our...

    PAL800 v3: the switches

Monolithic Dual JFETs? I didn't know them, but I think you could be right. So three transistors, but actually those are six. The trimpots are missing, but maybe those kind of transistors are more accurate, or if it possible, matched or selected to work ok with a specific resistor value. The...

    PAL800 v3: the switches

Hello, I have a question about the PAL800, the JCM800 Emulator, the PedalPCB version is the M800: http://www.pedalpcb.com/docs/M800.pdf The schematic is a jfet version of a JCM800 preamp: six transistors with five trimpots. That was the old version of the PAL800. There's a V3 version, now, that...

G1 - The clean version pedal mod

Hello. I tried some mods to make it a clean pedal, but the thing is not been a success, and I gave up for the moment. So, as I wanted to do, I finish my board (stripboard layout) to make the Malachite schematic. Today I soldered the last parts I tested, and like my last test it worked ok, I...

    Captain Bit

Original and replica pedals sounds pretty the same. But I'm wondering why the setting of the knobs are so different.

    Some Overdrive Recommendation

If you want something different and versatile you could try the Malachite. It sounds to me very amplike, very nice mild crunch. And it has a three band eq that the other ones you built don't have.

G1 - The clean version pedal mod

Hello, I'm back on it, finally. I built the circuit of the Malachite / G2 stock and I like it. It's a nice overdrive. I have some parts on socket so I made those experiments to get a clean preamp. I replaced R8 22k with a 10k. The effect is considerable: this makes a noticeable volume and high...

    What's on the workbench?

I couldn't order material in these last months, so I have a bunch of complete board, incomplete board and just partial parts in the bag for some pedals. Speaker Cranker and Smash Drive almost done. I'm working on a Splitter Blend with extra features. I'm working on a Mockman 2.0. I have to...

    Looking for something Bruuuutal

I built the Rotten Corpse version (on veroboard). It sounds a bit harsh to my hear. You can try to add a low pass filter, it worked fine to me.

    Ward 8 Overdrive

It seems very nice. Do you want to share the schematic? Just if you want. ;)
