    Deflector Died

Always sucks when a pedal dies. Haven't had anything go wrong when using the proper 9V DC power though. Repeating Robert's questions from above, as they would help clarify what's wrong: Even it the EEPROM died, you'd still have dry signal with the mix turned down, if that's dead too...

Other FV-1 programs that work with the HAARP/Arpanoid PCB

Thanks! That's inspiring. Maybe I'll just try one of my other million eeproms in it and see if anything sticks out. I still have a few un-built/unfinished FV-1 boards, but I've still got anxiety from having killed so many chips a few years back (still never figured out why---new house in a new...

Other FV-1 programs that work with the HAARP/Arpanoid PCB

Thanks for the wealth of info, @Feral Feline! I did take a look at a few of the build docs. I should also have made it clear that this is a fully finished, boxed up pedal I'm just not using, not something I'm in the middle of building. Seems unfortunate to have a precious FV-1 chip languishing...

Other FV-1 programs that work with the HAARP/Arpanoid PCB

It occurs to me that I build my HAARP/Arpanoid years ago and it has done nothing but sat velcroed to my wall. I feel like there's some FV-1 potential to unlock there and I'm curious if there are other eeprom programs that would work with the same control set (I've tried to the internal FV-1...

    Troglodyte Reverb

Nice! I'm short a few pots to finish mine (and the Tape Delay), but am very excited to get this one boxed up

    I think I've killed an FV-1...

I went through a span of mysteriously killing so many FV-1s it made me stop building for a bit (still never figured it out), so consider it a rite of passage :ROFLMAO:

Arachnid FV-1 Internal / External Switch Mod

Nice. Yeah, this is a pretty common FV-1 mod. I've done it on a few of my builds (depending on your jacks, I've been able to sneak mine just above one of the corner knobs at the top).

    Roboto

If I recall (been a while since I built mine), the internal trimpot is for gain. Might have to take mine off the wall and mess around a bit, as I always liked the arp setting

PedalPCB Gravitation - troubleshooting (bypass works)

A quick look and the soldering of the in/out/power wires at the top of the board looks very loose. I would make sure there's enough solder to fill the holes and also double check that nothing is possibly touching each other. In general, you'll want to reflow and ensure all solder joints look...

Moonn Space Is Fun (DBA Reverberation Machine)

I guess neither one bother me then, as I like messing with the feedback on this. At one point I tried adding some clipping diodes to ground on a toggle switch, which made it gnarlier, but never bothered including that as a mod

Moonn Space Is Fun (DBA Reverberation Machine)

Good to know! I have so many delays to build (always more in the queue). For what it's worth, while I agree about the gain on the Space Is fun, I don't mind the Belton sound at all

Moonn Space Is Fun (DBA Reverberation Machine)

There are other pedals that do a similar sound (distorted reverb) that don't make your dry signal dark too though (also this has a bright/dark setting for the reverb). My understanding from folks who know more than I do about electronics is that this circuit is just under-designed and sort of...

Moonn Space Is Fun (DBA Reverberation Machine)

I feel like it's kind of the opposite---It's got this niche street cred for noise dudes who love to have one on their boards, but builders scratch their heads at why it's so popular. Whatever the case, as someone who used to ride a scooter and misses it, I'm all for whatever makes you happy

Moonn Space Is Fun (DBA Reverberation Machine)

Haven't built much lately, so I'm still making my way through the backlog, including last year's Moonn order. I was excited by the Space Is Fun, but I should have read more about the Reverberation Machine first, as I was underwhelmed in the end by how dark and noisy this thing is (not Moonn's...

    Fancy Solder Sucker

I'd never tried one of these silicone-tipped suckers before, so on the strength of this thread I grabbed a cheap version from Aliexpress (and some extra tubing) and it works so much better than my old one. Makes me want to desolder things!

    DREAM MACHINE (2x Moonn DBA)

Totally fair! There are times when I get it into a sweet spot and love what it does, but Belton Bricks are too expensive to get up here, so I'm precious about what gets to use one. Ha

    DREAM MACHINE (2x Moonn DBA)

Nice! Looks great. I haven't populated my Echo Dream board, but the Reverberation machine left me a bit cold with how muddy and noisy it can be, but maybe I'll explore it a little more before tossing it in the pile of un-boxed circuits My goal with buying them was to do a combo build like this...

    Desolders

Aside from some super brief SMD stuff, I've only ever used the non-powered, spring-loaded solder suckers. Am I missing out?
