    DEMO Pro Filter w/ mods

My current thought is... High pass: a simple comparator fuzz Band pass: TS or RAT style distortion Low pass: a darkglass or 3leaf style synthy-bass fuzz / clean blend

    DEMO Pro Filter w/ mods

So, I love the idea of the Pro Filter but wanted to also send each filter to its own output to run multiple effects in parallel for each section of the filter so I could mix it back down later... As such, here it is in all its hacky glory. I added a 330nf cap off of the 3 pin of each filter...

    Pro Filter Individual Filter Output

I've built the Pro-Filter PCB and love it but want to additionally send each filter's output to a different mono output. I was going to tap each filter at pin 3 of the potentiometer and use a film capacitor (220n?) to output jack and then ground the jack to the dc jack. Should I worry about the...

Designing power section for a phaser.

Agreed, I figured it's relatively straightforward but I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something absolutely stupid. The LEDs will be driven by the 5v regulator which should not be an issue. The power draw for 8 op amps is within spec too.

Designing power section for a phaser.

I've been messing around with the TAPFLO3D chip for running PT2399 delays and decided I really wanted to just build an old school 12 stage optical phaser that is a blend of the Compact Phasing A with a TAPFLO3D to drive the LEDs or bulbs (haven't decided yet) and running the op amps at +/-9v. To...

A few pedals.. Parentheses Fuzz, Chaos Machine, Crystal Sword, and War Scythe

Here's a few builds that I finally got the cases for... Parentheses Fuzz I followed the build guide except I used some Russian D9K diodes and went with the rotary switch for the clipping options. As for the case, I kept waffling on the art I wanted to use and decided to go with a white out...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

A Spaceman Apollo 7B Layout. I still really don't like laying out ICs with more than 8 pins.. routing power nicely becomes a real pain :(

Is it ok to have copper pours with deviations and edges like this?

I can't say for your situation, but I've never had problems with oddly shaped copper pours causing issues in manufacturing.

    VCA-1: jacks?

    That makes sense to me.

    Pro Filter bulid

The tilted caps help the filters roll the unwanted electrons away better so they're more responsive.

    Question on signal path

You don't have to wire them in your schematic drawing order. Electrically, the nodes all see the same voltage. So, you could have a trace that goes 10k -> lug 1 of tone -> anode of 4148 -> cathode of 1n34a ... and be fine.

Park and ride, signal not getting through

It's all part of the process... Make sure to order a handful of ICs instead of just one or two. I typically get 10 to 20 op amps each time I do an order.

    Low Tide Mini: "Plover Modulator"

First, awesome pedal as always! The stacked boards are a ton of fun to build imo. I'm a huge fan of Fairfield Circuitry pedals and agree that sometimes you can get some unpleasant surprises (see what I did there) from them. They do remind me of the best Dwarfcraft Devices pedals in that way...

Park and ride, signal not getting through

Both your op amps were installed upside down on the first picture. A notch in the center of one edge or dot closer to one side than the other typically denotes where pin 1 of the IC is located. On the PCB for an IC, the silk screen image will typically have the notch and pin 1 will be a...

    Do I need a DCA55?

Yes, we all know that a DCA55 is grouped with food and shelter in the Physiological tier of Maslow's Hierarchy of Need.

DEMO The Everlasting Tantrum - an enhanced DOD Grindhaus Fuzz

I used the pot as a rheostat in this design and that is how I've normally done it. I've tried setting up the starve pot as a voltage divider with the third lug going through a resistor to ground to at least have some voltage going through and haven't had the results I was looking for with the...

    Some FuzzDog Dirt

I'm with you on FuzzDog designs, I like that he's got some different designs than here, but I really don't like the side jacks either so I end up adjusting everything like you.

Should I expect to pay Tariffs on Tayda Orders?

I've been holding off on anything for Tayda now thanks to the tariffs. In the last few orders I've done here's how it has broken down for me: Potentiometers and some ICs: Stomp Box Parts Most any IC or transistor: Mouser Most through hole parts: Tayda is still cheaper when including tariffs and...
