awesome builds. i put together the emerald a bit before christmas, and it needs some troubleshooting. unfortunately i promptly had to pack it up and move and have yet to take a crack at it.

this is a nice sounding circuit. just test drove it with the TC1044 on my new auditorium test platform and it definitely passed the "box it?" test. thanks for the help, guys!

hi, would there be any audible difference between the LT1054 vs TC1044 charge pump in the informant? i've got a TC1044 on hand, but i do like to make these close to original specs before i start tweaking anything. am i giving this circuit a fair shake if i go with the TC1044?

i just built two DAM sonic titans based on an old DIY board from EAE. it is a killer distortion. i think a SHO running into the sonic titan in a single 1590BB would be an amazing two button stomp box, and still under 30 components!

its looking more like this informant isn't going to fit into the RAT enclosure after all, so i'd be stoked for a nice repro pcb that would fit nicely. count me in.

nice! i'm actually trying to do a similar thing with an old RAT enclosure of mine. my goal was to fit the "informant" PCB in there, but its going to be a bit of a production. might work, might not. anyway, this looks great, if nothing else i'll just make my own like you did!

the other day i asked a question about tantalum vs aluminum electrolytic capacitors on another thread, and it made me think of this grab bag of generic old ceramic caps that i picked up from radio shack over 20 years ago. i’m wondering if these are worth using, or should i just go with the mlcc...

thanks for the compliment! you know i thought i’d done my due diligence with all that by gorilla taping the inside of the bottom plate and also the inside top of the enclose where the badge capture screws come through. i never even considered the plug hitting that shaft/stem thing. i like those...

i sort of thought this build was going to give me some trouble just because of its simplicity... you know. LUCK. and it did give me trouble, but it was trouble that i learned from. fortunately i just completed a test rig so i was able to go through everything systematically and get to the bottom...
