Can't really call it a build, or even much of a conversion/mod.
Had this kicking around on one shelf or another for 15-20 years. Figured one day I would get to it, and finally moved into the bench.
My goal, was to just do what I needed to get signal thru. And then adjust/mod from there. Easier said than done as I usually ended up gutting and rebuilding from the ground up. But was able to control myself for the first time, might be wisdom with old age or just lazy.
Looking at schematic the plan was to:
1. remove C11/R8 from the phonograph input from the circuit
2. Replace Electrolytics
3. Replace mic input with 1/4" jack
4. Add a fuse
5. 3 prong cord
And done
It sounds really good, running a P90 at 65/70 on the volume and treble about 50 thru a 2x12 was a whole Lotta fun. Really quite surprised, most of the resistors that looked really bad shape or in the power supply measured in spec. Expected to have lots of issues with the old capacitors but nothing had jumped out at me playing thru it for about 30 minutes. The phonograph pot is a bit wonky, pot seems sealed tried to get some deoxit in there. See what happens, easy enough to swap out.
Wish I knew how much fun this is, would have done this years ago......
