Alternatives to Isopropyl Alcohol for cleaning pcbs and components

I assume I wouldn't want to use too strong of a solvent or risk damaging the board.
Would denatured alcohol work or is that still too strong?
Should I use something milder like everclear or high proof vodka?

I would imagine that vodka would leave a residue. They do make pcb cleaner, but I have found IPA works best. Maybe unicorn tears too, it may be easier to find at this point.

Deionized water does the trick, most hardware stores carry it I think

Denatured alcohol is fine, that is what has been used at several of the labs / repair centers where I've worked.

awesome, thanks guys...I still have isopropyl for now but not expecting to be able to resupply anytime soon. The local hardware store has online ordering and curbside pickup so I'll probably just get some denatured alcohol the next time I need to order some other things.

If you drink enough of the Vodka then the dirty board doesn't seem to make as much difference...
