SOLVED Arcana distortion issue

So when I fire this up I get a good amount of noise and lowish output on bypass and when I engage the effect I get even lower signal and a loud high pitched feedback sound that varies as I adjust volume and/or gain.

Anyone see anything obvious? I pretty new so wanted to check before I take this thing apart. Thanks!

Is it possible that you have the signal and ground swapped on one or both jacks? It kind of looks like that in the picture but it's hard to tell.

Ratimus is correct defo looks like you've got your jack tips wired to ground

You guys were right, so I switched them and now I have no signal, completely silent. I suppose later tonight or tomorrow I’ll double check all of the wires

So I had some time to sit down again and was surprised to test for continuity and everything looked fine. Then I took a closer look at my jacks and the tip of the output was slightly touching the enclosure. Adjusted that and now this thing rocks! I’ll add it to the build report. Thanks again.
