CD4069UB

I am having an issue with a build and I just noticed that I used a CD4069UBE IC when it called for a CD4069UB. Can one use these interchangeably?

Both the CD4049UB and CD4049UBE are 'unbuffered' hex inverters. They should be interchangeable. The CD4049B is 'buffered'.

I don't know that I've ever seen a buffered CD4049. In any case a CD4049 is by definition a hex inverter. Buffered or not, it inverts. Perhaps you're thinking of the CD4050.

I re-examined the datasheet and you're right. TI shows the 4049 next to a 4050 and at a quick glance, I assumed they were just the buffered and unbuffered versions - when in fact it was a 4049 compared to a 4050. I've corrected my original comment. Thanks for the head's up.
