Down to Earth Compressor
(PPCB General Tso - ThorpyFX Fat General clone)
Optical style Compressor
I could not stand the Boss style compressor (VCA).
Afterburn = Treble
Pressure (0atm to 1atm) = Sustain (or compression)
Throttle = pot controls Volume
Re-Entry = pot controls Blend
I used the KE-10715 LDR from Tayda (I didn’t see the KE-10720 when I placed my order) with 2 5mm green LEDs. With hear shrink over them. Works well! I get the full range of compression from none at Sustain 0 to heavy compression Sustain 10. Blend control works very well. I built it using the included buffer bypass. I will have to rearrange my fuzzes to before the compressor on my board so they don’t have any issues but otherwise it’s the only buffer on my board (besides the switchable buffer on my Strobostomp).
Very happy with this circuit and was a breeze to build. I even built it after getting off a 48hr shift over the weekend.
