IIRC, this is just an Engineers Thumb v2 with a few changes:
- Relay Bypass
- Threshold control replaced with Internal Trimpot (it was very unloved)
- Clean Blend added (this puts it in league with the Keeley and Wampler)
I think the Engineers Thumb wins the award for best compressor, and this is the best iteration of it. Feed-Foward design (notice the lack of a 'Sustain' knob), very low noise, low parts number, minimal components in series in the signal-path, OTA in feedback loop rather than series (novel approach, less distortion, more headroom). The only negative is the OTA can be a challenge to source. These things sell for $280ish so it would be awesome to be able to build a work-alike.
