Kings Hand build - non-standard resistor values

Evening All.

I notice some non-standard resistor values in the Kings Hand OD BoM, for example: R4 @ 30k1, and would like to know best practice for achieving these values.

Can I just wire a 30k and 1k resistor in series, and if so, whats the most practical, and neatest way to do this?

Personally, I would just use a 30k resistor and not think twice about it.

30k1 is 30,100 ohms. A resistor that's labeled 30k can actually measure anywhere from 29,700 to 30,300, if it's got a 1% tolerance like a metal film resistor. There's no way you're going to notice a difference.

I also used resistors in a series to get the correct values. I think that is the way to go.

I put a 30K in mine - actually thought it was a typo in the doc It sounds great, but now I'm intrigued - how much of a difference does it actually make?

Thanks All! I decided to post the question on the premise that these values were there for a reason:

• R2 - 28k7
• R4 - 30k1
• R5 - 133k
• R10 - 9k5

And as cdwillis posted, normal component tolerances would probably cover the values, but?
