LED and LDR orientation

Facing up or facing the LED?

All other builds I've seen here have "Facing the LED".

But don't trust me.

Facing the LED, you have it installed correctly.

I usually install them pointing more towards the lens part of the LED (except on the Delegate), but I think that should work fine.

You did the right thing getting a diffuse LED. Clear LEDs tend to shoot all the light straight up. The rule is: you want the maximum amount of light from the LED landing on the LDRs.
