Maxon Fuzz Elements: Void (Scrambler w clean blend!)

When the Maxon Elements range of fuzz pedals first came out I bought a couple from Japan. This was before I got into building my own. From the ad copy I was expecting something more than a nice box with a tiny PCB with surface mount components. For the circuits I bought (can't remember which ones) the circuit was simple enough that it looked like there was hardly anything in there. So I was disappointed, but now I know more about this stuff I shouldn't have been. Still it was weird to see the equivalent of a Tonebender recreated in SMD. You could just about fit the circuit on your fingernail. It didn't seem as wondrous and earthy as the Elements copy implied. It all seemed a bit sterile compared to the ad.

Still, they sounded pretty good. :)

A circuit is a circuit, component "mojo" is easily replaced with precise measurement and Maxon are among the best at what they do!
