I really like the way this thing sounds. I have a thumbsucker, and it’s fine. But with this, I’m getting so many more good tones. It’s fun! The controls are intuitive and quick to dial in.

I was going to build this stock with the OP1678. But of course I didn’t check the size and carelessly ordered the wrong ones.

I remembered @Mentaltossflycoon ’s recent report on the Median, which used LM833s. Searching through my stash I had FOUR of them! So I popped them in and I was in business! I did a quick tweak of the trimpot by ear. Basically I listened for the compressor working, and also not clipping.

Since the original is the Ego 76, I riffed on that and made a subtle ghostbusters reference.

Love it! I didn't mention it in my report but after buying the LM833s I ordered the op1678 set out of curiosity and also bought the rong size. There will be no comparisons going on over here any time soon.

Maybe a suggestion to @PedalPCB to update the adapter boards to be able to use them with the narrower pitch MSOP8 as well like these double sided ones: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006636105198.html

Yeah, that could be nice. But Mr. moving-to-Montana-soon and myself really should have ordered this part.

PSA- if you’re planning to use op1678s with the SOIC-8 adapter boards, get this one!!
