Maybe someone could make it work with the new xvive vtl5c3/2 vactrols. Or some good old tayda ldr and led's

I don’t see why not, the xvive vtl5c3/2 is very close to what was used in the originals, right?

It was trash in the vintage DOD 440. I guess it would depend on the circuit, and make tweeks as needed

Interesting. The vtl5c3 was fantastic for the pair of Mutron-III pedals I made. every vintage 440 circuit I’ve seen is supposed to use a vtl5c4/2, and the one I made using one of those was pretty damn close in its response to the vintage unit I compared it to. Maybe you just got a few duds by chance?
