I wanted to get this build report loaded with some samples. As being a neuroscientist, I could not help myself and had to make this pedal. I read some mixed reviews about the pedal, but my first impression is quite positive. I really like the way it cleans up. It sounds like it is on the edge of break up. At full throttle, the pedal can get fuzzy with a compressed and gated quality (but with some sustain). To me, it sounds like something Jack White might use. I thought the presence and treble would be redundant, but I was wrong. They work well together.
Technically, the J201’s are biased according to PedalPCB’s guidance (found on this forum).
The samples are short, but demonstrate the clean and dirty. I hope it is helpful. Take care.
