This was my first KoT build. Unreal sound. Socketed the money diodes and gain setting resistors. Currently using high gain on red side and trying to optimise the switch settings at the moment.

Has anyone messed with OPAMPs on this circuit? The NOS Japan 4580s sound great but I have haven't done any comparisons yet.

Next one is going into a 1590B enclosure..

Just built a Paragon Mini myself, and I agree - it sounds great. I built it with the warm tone mods.

I tried a 4558 chip and couldn't hear a difference

Which money diodes did you use?

I made a Prince of Tone with MA856 diodes and appreciated the mojo!

I have some BA282 diodes for my Paragon that is in queue.

Panasonic MA856 and Toshiba 1S1588s.

I'm going to attempt building another one in the smaller enclosure, and plan to build in toggle switches for the gain resistor setting and clean/OD/dist DIP settings as well this time. I might try using modern equivalent diodes in that one and do some A/B comparisons.
