Removing waterslide decal

Someone I know, definitely not me mixed up their gain and level labels and didn’t realize it until after applying the waterslide, clear coat and boxing the pedal. I can remove the pedal from the enclosure no problem. But is it possible to remove the water slide from the enclosure after clear coating? I read that soaking it in vinegar would work. Anyone have experience with this or am I better off just buying a new enclosure? I mean….. not me, my friend

I would say it is possible, but that depends on what type of clear coat you used. If your box was powder coated, it should resist a pain thinner.

It is the army green powder coat from enclosure from tayda

I did it once with light wet sanding with fine grit along one edge/corner, and was able to peel it from there. You'll have to sand carefully the residue to not remove the powder coat, but it's feasible.
But, as @EGRENIER suggested, it might be easier with thinner.

The one my um "friend" messed up, ended up just sanding it a little repainting and appying a new decal
