SES Transistors?

Has anyone heard of the manufacturer SES in reference to transistors (among other electrical components I presume)? I’m looking at purchasing some 2n404a’s but haven’t heard of SES before and am curious of quality.

Siemens Edison Swan was a germanium transistor manufactured in the UK. I've never seen a "quality" germanium. They are either in-spec for my needs or out. Manufacturer doesn't seem to effect that. Culling does. The older they get, the more fragile the glass ones seem to get though.

Thank you kindly. Germanium is still a bit of a mystery to me. Seems I need to do a bit more reading. I found an interesting looking article on the history of transistors that I’m looking forward to reading. Anyway, thanks again for the detailed response!
