Unison Build

I'm about to start a Unison Build. This is my first PedalPCB board but I am by no means new to electronic construction.

The board is V3. The documents I've downloaded show differing component values to those prints on the board. Which are correct?

Also the docs don't show which side the pots and switch mount to, component side or reverse side, nor in what orientation the pots are mounted? A photo in the build docs would have helped!

What do the 3 CNTRL pots do? I know they control the FV-1 but specifically what parameter does each pot affect in the Unison application?

Is it possible to get the board to fit a 1590B enclosure? It's marginally too wide for the one I have. Will it only fit the next size up, 125B?

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks!

As a rule the PCB will have the correct values so build from that.
The Toggle switch & Pots all mount from the underside of the PCB.
Use Sockets only to mount & swap your Op Amps!

You should only use this type & model pot for this build, It matches the 125B only Drill temp!
Tayda sells with Dust cover which is needed to insulate the Pot from touching the PCB on the bottom Pots :

Thanks Music6000.

I've now located a BoM that matches the board markings.

Anyone know of a UK source for the pot covers/insulators?

I've been looking for pot dust covers too, but here in US. I guess the workaround is a few layers of electrical tape?

I've got insulating material that I could use but the covers are a tidy solution! Banzai Music in Germany have them but I only need half a dozen so shipping makes that less than attractive.

Have a look through the build reports section. Here’s an exceptionally tidy build of the unison, but any of the build reports will looks similar and answer some of your questions.

There’s also a Basic Workflow Tips thread under the general questions section. It’s very in depth. If you’re experienced with electronics you’ll know what steps you feel comfortable skipping (for example, I never use flux or IPA), and generally don’t measure each component as I go (hasn’t bitten me yet!).

when I install pots without the dust cover, I like to use double sided foam tape (I stick it to the pot and leave the non-stick backing on the side that lays on the pcb). The thickness (about 1-1.5mm) makes me feel more comfortable nothing will poke through compared to electrical tape, though that would probably work as well.

All pedalpcb boards are designed with 125B in mind. For reference, 2.25” wide pcb like the unison won’t fit in 1590B (unfortunate as I love 1590b). 2.2” is very tight / only works in 1590b for some suppliers. I’ve seen some threads about sanding the pcb down or grinding out some thickness from the enclosure, but I wouldn’t recommend that for the first pedal build.
