Volume (Pot?) Issue

I am working on my third pedal from here! It's a Blue Shu Gai (PG-14). I boxed it up and noticed that when the volume is turned all the way up I get no sound. When I slowly turn the volume pot down it reaches a point (around 30% volume) all the sudden the signal cuts in. When I turn it down more the volume cuts again. Basically I can play the effect if I don't turn the volume knob past a certain range.

Has anyone experienced this before? It lights up fine, and passes normal signal in bypass mode. Should I replace the volume pot?

Yes, I’d replace it. Had a similar issue. Removed the pot from the board, and with my multimeter set to measure resistance, I could tell exactly where the resistive element was “broken”, as I turned the knob.
