Which one do you prefer? This will be used for a retrofit module, not a breakout board included with a project.

Style A is a bit more organized but the protrusion does have a slightly larger footprint for a component that already occupies a lot of room.Style B can fit into a smaller area. Although the connections are scattered compared to Style A, they're grouped somewhat functionally and there is less crossover of traces on the board.

Thankfully these switches have no keyway or white washer to debate over.
 
Style A to mitigate confusion; style B for its emphasis on conservation of space and versatility.

Why not both if these are to be standalone board(s)?
