XC Phase LFO op amp swap.

On my recent xc phase build, I noticed some lfo tick, albeit slight, when I placed it in front of my higher gain amp. Because of this, I decided to play a little game of swap the op amp. I put a lm358 in place of the tl072 that’s specified and the tick disappeared. It also helped reduce the overall noise floor on the 4 stage, block, switch settings. Just a little tidbit of info I thought I’d pass along.

Helped me tremendously on my 3rd XC build. First two were great, no issues with the TL072. For whatever reason I had a strong tick on 45 (I think it was 45). Took out the three TL072’s and threw in 3 LM358n’s and tick disappeared completely. Thanks again!!

might be shielding on/how the chip was made...I'd have to put both on this ancient bullet scale I have and see the diff in grains, meaning 1 has more material in the outer casing...

Yeah, very strange. The TL072’s I used on all three were from the same batch (presumably), as I ordered around 200 from TI.

I think mine has a very subtle tick. It’s never bothered me, could be a fun experiment, though…
