XC Phase - turns on and passes sound but does not phase

Hi everyone!

Just got through my XC Phase build using a matched quad of 2SK208-GR JFETs from AionFX (https://aionfx.com/project/2sk208-gr-matched-set/)

I thought I'd try them since they were used in the Boss PH-1r that I really like.

The pedal turns on, LED and bypass are working and it does pass sound—although it doesn't produce any phasing. When it's on the tone gets a bit thinner and more nasal as if it's stuck at the thinner part of the phase sweep but I can't hear it moving at all.

Are there any clues from the photos as to what might be going on?

Assuming the DSG markings on those through-hole adapters are correct, they're installed backwards.

This got me once too, because I overlooked the fact that the 2N5952 had reverse pinout to most other common JFETs we use.

Success! Pedal works and sounds great. The trimpot can be set by ear in this situation, correct? I just dialed it for the strongest audible whoosh.
