    VHS50 - VH4 stripped down amp build

-edit: I am leaving those here but I just realised they plain sound bad lol. I’ll take new ones at some point in the near future.- Couple of soundclouds I did fast with my iPhone, so more "room sound" than anything (cough phone on the desk, speaker on the floor not really pointing at each...

    VHS50 - VH4 stripped down amp build

I think the EQ for the clean channel, in my user case, is overkill. Properly voiced and a simple Tone knob would probably be sufficient. Nice to have for sure though, sounds great as is. But DAMN that channel 3 is bringing the goods.

    VHS50 - VH4 stripped down amp build

Thanks :) The chassis is made by JLCCNC. They just opened a "Sheet Metal" service which is very efficient and affordable. 15€ for the chassis powder coated and drilled, 2mm aluminum is unbeatable. Obviously, shipping + taxes pile up fast but you can combine with the PCBs which, again put it in...

    VHS50 - VH4 stripped down amp build

As all the high voltage people from our thread know, after assembling a SLO30 kit from Rosamp, making my own two channels Deliverance 60 clone, Britney Spears visited me and... Went on another adventure! Wanted something iconic but way different. So focused my eyes on a Diezel VH4 but I...

Boutique Pedal Manufacturers Are Feeling the Tariff Pinch

You sir have a way with words. I directly had the image in my mind while reading. Also, I actually think that you'd sell 10,000 of them rather easily. New business opening in 2026 peeps! And better quality. Didn't we have a thread here a few weeks ago that showed two pedal housing prototypes...

EAGLE USERS...2026 IS HERE. WHAT TO DO?

We have a saying in French: “who can do the most, can do the least”. Or my version: “me stupid, tool good, output decent”. But I can only encourage you to give fusion another chance really. single or dual layer PCB and built in 3D render is piss easy. The only thing that ever gave me trouble...

EAGLE USERS...2026 IS HERE. WHAT TO DO?

I use it for tube amps but I do not see why Fusion couldn't do pedal. Your library is your only limitation really, and you can find footprints and even 3D models for 99% of pedal components. Hell the stock resistor / cap / Ecap libraries haven been sufficient and in the rare cases I don't find...

Anyone have any new neck opinions?

For a fender I would assume Warmoth is the obvious choice. Keep in mind that unless they have changed that, they do not do a fret level before delivery so a pro level afterwards might be necessary (200-250€?).

Mahayana Build Report… I do build pedals

I use WD 40 and it works quite well.

    PedalPCB Isosceles

Thanks! Beside the Korg Tuner (I need to get myself a QTune at some point soon) and the Mooer Ocean Machine, I have a Pedal PCB Muzzle as a staple. The rest is just boost and overdrives on rotation... Currently this Isosceles, a Wonder Drive, AionFX Titan (OCD clone with some switches) and a...

    PedalPCB Isosceles

Build rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐:whitewasher: (I still think PedalPCB pads could be a tad bigger so I can still solder when drunk) Since I am basically done with the small light overdrive collection I wanted to build, I am moving to clean boosts. First in line was the obvious TCPre/33/Grind combination. The...

    Tube Preamp PCB (draft)

Grid resistors are supposed to filter out the RF picked up between the previous stage output and the grid of that tube. In theory they should be soldered directly to the grid socket. On my PCBs (with PCB mounted sockets) I have the grid resistor pad basically touching the grid pad.

    Tube Preamp PCB (draft)

Looks good. You still have a couple of parallel traces that might be close enough to couple (thinking D3-R19 area). Might want to swap some traces to the other side there, the PCB thickness will help with that. Having the soldering points a bit far apart for the pots isn't a big deal but make...

Is it ok to have copper pours with deviations and edges like this?

They won't care. And unless it's very pointy it won't cause any issues.
