    circuit modifications in amps

This. There are quite a few kit and I would recommend starting with one. It doesn’t have some thing you never use, but building a kit while trying to understand signal / supply chains is a great way to get into it. As a bonus you’ll get a functioning amp at the end on top of the know how. We...

    circuit modifications in amps

Always wet your finger before touching the top of the first filter cap in series, it’s tradition. If you don’t know what it means please don’t open an amp. The not do list is massive. It can go from small bad smell to coffin pretty fast with all the shades of arcing and fuzzy insides in...

Mouser and Digikey search game changer?

Yeah that's what I meant. Been finding more not-entered or plain out wrong entries in crucial parameters lately (lol at some high voltage caps with capacitance or voltage that's not matching in part number and mouser entry... what do I trust send help) and that has been making my life hard.

Mouser and Digikey search game changer?

On this side, I have had issues trying to filter stuff lately... as soon as one category is not properly documented (no values listed) selecting a filter removes it. So when trying to filter caps by ESR, as soon as a cap doesn't have one documented by mouser, it doesn't show. Even if the...

Getting Started with PCBA at JLCPCB

Long story short, and to my limited understanding: ground that have to do with power require higher current and see more electron movement. It's not the case for most signal grounds. If your audio ground "draws" from a power ground directly and frequently, you will end up seeing ripple from the...

Getting Started with PCBA at JLCPCB

Yes same for ground pours. And keep in mind good grounding practice - not all grounds traces are equal, even if they end up tied at the same spot.

Getting Started with PCBA at JLCPCB

Creepage depends on what the trace is carrying. You have creepage required for safety against arcing (purely voltage related and below 9V you can go really tight) but then there is creepage that is specific to coupling between signal. Then you should take into a count not only the voltage...

Getting a PCB made from a gerber

As a total noob, Autodesk Fusion has treated me well for PCB designs. Felt more intuitive than the rest to me. But I have a free Autodesk license from work so there is that. Also learn to cherish Mouser making footprints for you to help you start out :p And then make your own library. At that...

WIP Amp build - Deliverance 60 made 2 channels

Here you go. Had to upload to an external host as I can't upload a pdf here and there seems to be compression past a certain resolution. Some stuff needs to be connected by a wire but the naming should make it easy enough to figure out. (Obviously, click on the image).

WIP Amp build - Deliverance 60 made 2 channels

Yes it seems the resolution wasn’t the best and it’s hard to read. I’ll reupload a proper one once I am back from holidays.

TUTORIAL Basic fret level, crown & polish made easy (picture heavy)

Nice thanks for the review! As for the sandpaper gumming up fast, I always keep a sand paper eraser close by. Works wonders and costs nothing. Also I am not a fan of fret erasers as it feels imprecise. But this is for when I build my own necks, I think they would be sufficient for a clean up.

    Varna Sankar (PPCB Wonder Drive)

I have a Joyo clone of the precision drive and the same problem. Either position 1 or 2 (ideally in between) or then it’s full on caricature. I also have an AionFx Blaze that is pretty good but too much gain at all times and the settings are way too aggressive- you need to setup your amp for the...

    Varna Sankar (PPCB Wonder Drive)

So in my search of a perfect clean ish boost for high gain tones on my amps, next in line was a PPCB Wonder Drive / Airis Savage Drive. No mods. Build was uneventful (although I am preparing for the hate by saying I think PPCB pads are a taaaaad too small), everything was easy to fit, nothing...

Wah Inductors. No hype. Just measurements.

All good questions @Chuck D. Bones . It’s to place in the non of a tube amp between the depth knob and ground so it will see very low current and voltage unless something blows up. Actual resistance should be low that’s about it but I am hoping for some decent accuracy (20%?). Some people have...

Cheers! I will progress on the schematic etc and will dig more and hit you up once I am closer to PCB tracing (y)
