Philly fuzz? old Baroness rig rundown. what is it?

My brother is always asking me about this pedal. And I haven't ever had luck finding too much info out there on it. I am only interested for the Baroness association and my brother is honestly mystified by it and I kinda just wanna build one for him. anybody know what's going on in one?

What little I looked around, people are saying its based off (not a clone) of a tonebender mkii or a buzz around, having never played ether, I can’t confirm that, but I can tell you I have built a couple dizzy tones (based off a buzz around) you can emulate this sound very easily with settings or component changes.
