Hi all, I’m pretty new to DIY electronics and just starting to put together a 9V guitar pedal board.
Someone mentioned it’s a good idea to add a TVS diode at the power input to protect the circuit from reverse polarity or surges.
I found this part on etei — TPD1E10B09QDPYRQ1 from TI. It says it clamps around 14V and handles up to 6A surges (8/20μs). From what I can tell, it’s mainly used for USB or audio interface protection?
Just wondering:

Just wondering:
- Would this be okay for protecting the 9V input on a pedal? Or is the clamping voltage off?
- Do I just throw it across +9V and ground near the DC jack? Or is there a better way to do it?
