My dumbass moment thats lasted two days

Just thought I’d share a pedal building dumbass moment.

So i recently built a pedal for a guy it was more or less tweaking a circuit. I breadboarded the idea biggest thing was getting the tone stack right, and i felt pretty good about it. Went with a baxandall active. Get it all done ship it out to the guy. Hes really happy with it but does mention the tone stacj is a bit subtle but overall hes happy. So ive got 4 more boards sitting here so i decide to build another. Get it all done I’m like wow this is subtle, is it doing anything. I swear it was better than that huh. So i start tinkering, unfortunately i removed it from my breadboard so i put it back on there. Don’t even put the orignal tone stack back start tinkering with stuff. Got it sounding way better than what i had on pcb. Then decide to a/b them. Oh yeah thats so much better. Man how did i think that was ok. Look back at the board, finally see the empty ic socket for the tonestack ic… that’d make a difference… although my tinkered tone stack is better and I’ll be offering to change the values to the new ones in the pedal i shipped out.
