EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Ah man, yeah hopefully boxing it up and the new op amp will address that. If you are able to, you might want to use a probe to check if the line out from the Daisy Seed has the noise, or if it's only after the buffer stage. Thanks for the update!

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

After some further testing with the MCP6024 quad op amp, I'm really pleased with the (lack of) noise level, compared with the TL074. I know noise has been an ongoing issue with the Daisy Seed in a buffered guitar pedal, especially with the rev 7. I'd be curious if the dual op amp version...

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Here’s a new video for the Pluto dual variable speed looper module: This one isn’t 100% finished, I need a third function for the left switch, and I’d like to have the option to sync loopA and loopB. I’m welcome to any ideas for this one!

Been there! And no worries, hope the build goes smoothly!

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Probably a good idea to look into that, thanks! I know in the Daisy Petal schematic Electrosmith has a more complex circuit in their power supply, I think they have said it was to provide “clean power”.

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

I have an update regarding the quad op amp used in Funbox, the TL074. I made another Funbox v3 using a pcbway board, (my first had been an Oshpark board) and found I was getting a hissing noise only on the right audio output. It wasn’t too loud, but loud enough to be a nuisance. I measured at...

Thanks! I use c++. Highly recommend the daisy environment, the DaisySP library has alot of tools and effects to build from.

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Yes, v3.1 on Github is the latest. I don't have a pdf of the Adobe Illustrator file, but I can create one. It's just a template with the hole locations and placeholder text like "knob 1", "knob 2", etc. Do you just want a reference or are you looking for something to submit to Tayda for UV...

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Oh awesome! What manufacturer did you go with? Let me know if you have any questions, you are the first person I know of that has started building one. I recently made a build guide that might be helpful if you haven't seen it: https://medium.com/@keyth72/funbox-build-guide-afbd8046121e

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Here’s a full demo of one of my Funbox modules, Neptune Reverb/delay! This is very similar to my Atlas pedal. Planning on doing demos of the other modules, I have one if Mars already on my YouTube channel. All open source, as per usual

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

I just thought of something, if you have the C2 cap soldered in place already, make sure remove the lower C2 lead from the hole, otherwise it will still be connected directly to the audio output pin.

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Is the 3.3k resister connected is series with the U2 capacitor? Only the 2.2nF should go to ground, after the 3.3k resistor. It should go audio out pin, to the 3k3, to the U2 cap, with one end of the 2.2nF cap between 3k3 and U2, and the other end connected to gnd. If you’re not sure send a...

You won’t hurt anything trying them out on Terrarium, the knobs and footswitches should work, but the other switches will probably give you some random results.

    Paludarium Platform Development

And here’s that pedal for anyone interested, I have it to a point that I’m pretty happy with, now just making tweaks to the pcb and writing code for it. It’s under the very permissive MIT license, so anyone can use, modify, even build and sell the hardware or software. Feel free to use any ideas...

Genuine Question - What's going on with the noise complaints with the Electro-Smith?

In my mind the Daisy Seed is still the easiest and most powerful DSP platform out there, vs the cost, which is why I’m willing to put in the effort to figure out a good guitar pedal solution for the latest revision. I’ve done some audio effects on raspberry pi, and it’s powerful, but expensive...

EXAMPLE Developing a custom pcb for Daisy Seed - Funbox

Usually when I set out to make a new guitar effect "thing", I develop it in a vacuum until I think it's ready, and then I'll share the finished product. This time, I thought it would be fun to document the development process, and bounce ideas off the community. These are the current...

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Honestly you could probably just twist the leads together, solder them, and wrap in in electrical tape and be fine, good luck!
