When I did Musikding kits worked out better. But if you start buying large quantities of common parts cheaply elsewhere it goes back towards direct. For ease of use Musikding is brilliant

Recommended components for JLCPCB assembly process...

actually ignore me - I actually think buying the musikding kit works out a similar cost for a lot less work. If I was making a small batch it would be the way to go I think.

    What's on the workbench?

I laid out my own board for a SS/BS mini, and as expected had a load of PCB from china made.... Having made up a couple of them to sell cheap for mates... I'm not sure I'ld ever do that again! Getting half the PCB populated in china with SMD seems to be a better way!

First Time PCB Design - Help Request

I look at Roberts layouts and go "ah" looks easy. Then I try it myself!! Generally, and I've got the piles of messed up PCBs that should go in the bin to prove it... if you can buy it from PedalPCB (or Aion or fuzz dog or someone reputable) - and it fits the enclosure you want with the jacks...

Who's down for some SMD layouts?

I ended up looking at SMD stuff for something I'm thinking of laying out... is it easier/satisfying to do by hand vs getting it populated by the pub fabricators? I realise this is a little off topic!

All Time Most Bestest Favoritest Chorus You Have Owned , Played or Heard?

An entire modular synth in a 125B sized box - with the downside that you have to program it with a laptop or phone … you get so many possibilities. Trade off isn’t it? Functionality beyond imagination vs accessibility- it’s the source audio way. Though the artifakt is a lot better at being...

All Time Most Bestest Favoritest Chorus You Have Owned , Played or Heard?

On bass the tech21 bass boost chorus is fun. However the greatest that rules all is the Providence Anadime which is just perfect. Also the chorus in the Source Audio Artifakt was nice too
