    Silicone Topcoat Wire - Exists?

I’ve never found it in consumer quantities - I forget if I found it in bulk - but I’ve spent many hours looking. Following this thread with cautious optimism!

    T12/T15 soldering iron tip recommendations.

Hoof tip all day every day. For years I only used a BC 2mm tip and it can do 99% of soldering jobs IMHO

Tracers, lemme hear you say whattt

Circuit board reverse engineering is a big industry with lots of water well treaded. I’m sure AI shit is being worked into it aspects of it but it’s an old enough industry to have existed without it. Most Chinese pedal manufacturers have full fledged R&D teams that use existing pedal designs as...

    Faceplate Question

Looks like UV printing on a separate faceplate to me. As much as I love Tayda’s service, it kind of sells short the capabilities of the technology. Not complaining at the price though. Edit: just noticed the next. Gonna change my guess to laser engraved and then printed. Really curious to...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

Working on an AD633 modulator with a raspberry pi pico controlled AD9833 DDS signal generator for the modulation. This is a rough draft bench top PCB for making sure everything works right and determining what features are useful to have in a pedal. If the phase control ends up being useless I...

Sorry if I implied you didn’t, I wanted to phrase that for OP while building off your post. What is RTA?

Tracers, lemme hear you say whattt

I’ve never traced a pedal but I’ve copied plenty from unverified schematics and this is what I’ve done. If you’re feeling extra anal you could compare the LTSpice simulation with an oscilloscope on the pedal too

two sticks of derm with a blendable green ringer in front of it. surprised I didn't make this yet. green ringer blend section is stolen from here: https://www.tdpri.com/threads/the-groble-green-ringer-octave-blend.326950/

Lost friction in potentiometer after cleaning

This stuff is surprisingly good for the price. It's basically the same formulation as MG Chemical's Plastic Safe Flux Remover 4140A and I use it when I either need the added force of the compressed blowing (phrasing!) or more precision application.

    New concept pedal, AI assisted

The input cap pot is used in a lot of pedals. The catalinbread harmonic percolator (I think its the Antichon or Antithesis on PPCB) is one that comes quickly to mind that uses it as an example of how to go about it. I think earthquaker uses it a lot too

    KiCad Version 9 Released

Still a pain to place components in schematics compared to diptrace :/ I want to like kicad SO badly Once the addon API is extended to the schematic editor (timelined for version 10) I’m just gonna write a fucking component toolbar if its still not there

    Pendulum tremolo ldr alternatives

I’m unsure how the speed compares but these 2 from Mouser are at least in similar on resistance ranges to the 5516 (5k-10k) https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Advanced-Photonix/PDV-P8101?qs=tlsG%2FOw5FFjeKZh79vO9Tw%3D%3D...

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

No additional fees on 4 orders I placed at varying times of the de minimis rule changes with the global direct saving shipping option. Each order was pretty small though, at most 10 pcbs.

Explain like I'm 5, what is going on in this pedal to make is sound like this, please?

I think the Moonbow is an Oberheim SEM style filter with a console type drive in front of it. The Hudson Broadcast (PPCB Simulcast) and JHS Crayon (PPCB Pastel Preamp) are both based on consoles and are in the same ballpark sound-wise to me. Rob also posted a picture of the Catalinbread Airstrip...

Potentiometer value change calculation - SOLVED

I threw it in LTSpice a few days ago and still couldn't figure out how the frequencies and Q are defined. Really curious the answer to this one. I know it's part of the Ibanez WH-10 Wah but can't find nail down the filter topology it uses.

Question for those who test PCBs before deciding to box them

https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/what%E2%80%99s-on-your-workbench.13146/page-44#post-182422 I never bothered to renew the ssl cert for this domain name so your browser might throw a warning. I've been meaning to redo it now that Rob has used middle toggles in new spots in a handful of designs...
