    toner transfer?

yes I know - but it seems the "glossy picture paper" is **advertised** as for inkJET. Is that the right for printing with laser or is there "glossy picture paper for LASERJET ?

    toner transfer?

What's the lowest cost "reasonably" good laser you can get these days? And where / what type of cardstock did you use (brand and id if possible)? There's like 5 million different types and no clear agreement on what works best. Is the stuff called "picture paper" and is it laserjet or inkjet...

    toner transfer?

Anyone tried the "toner transfer" method for pedal artwork? Looking for recommendations and success stores on what brand of paper etc My -pedals have a thin (0.030") aluminum 2.1"x2.1" plate where all the graphics are - so Im not heating a large area and I would think this method would have at...

    Tayda or Alpha pots?

Are the Tayda standard 16mm same as or as good as the Alpha? Anyone have issues with either? Just curious - they look the same - likely from the same factory.

PCB design: surface mount layout help (tracks)

Thanks - I get that. I mean there should be direct connection to the ground pads (circles) with no thermal pad relief like in a normal ground thru hole pad.

PCB design: surface mount layout help (tracks)

Thanks - am I right in assuming that there are no thermal isolation pads on the top surface (to ground)? that the solder mask is what "borders" the pad for the bga package?

PCB design: surface mount layout help (tracks)

Thanks - appreciate the tips. I think I have a strategy - now trying to understand BGA and its requirements, therma vias, etc.

PCB design: surface mount layout help (tracks)

So I'm doing a surface mount board for the first time. I've done a few dozen though hole projects, etc. It's going to require a different strategy I guess! In my through hole designs it sure is nice to have the option of FRONT or BACK (2 sided board) due to the nature of "through holes"...

    making PCBs

I'll never do etching again.... its not just the etching, the drilling, cutting, etc ughhh. The pcb software (I've used Kicad) takes a bit to get used to but with a bach of 5-10 small boards for ~$10shipped (pcbshopper) I'll never do etching again. May take awhile to get em, but saves me a ton...

    making PCBs

options 1) photoshop it, print it on transfer paper, iron it to bare PCB, etch PCB, drill PCB. Several hours, lots of work - outcome depends on how good you are but will probably look like crap. alternately use a sharpie on the PCB and then etch. old skool style! 2) point to point on perf...

    Stupid question re pcbs

they dont really "cut" very easy btw. File - maybe a little, just be careful of the "dust" (dont breath it) Make SURE there are really no traces for you you damage- they can be pretty small, and covered by the solder mask. I think most of these are double sided tracks, but there's usually one...
