Getting a PCB made from a gerber

I just pay the 50 cents or whatever to not have any extraneous graphics printed. ;)

Digital BBD concept looking for comments and beta testers

Update: still playing with a single two tap delay, mostly working on fine tuning feedback schemes and gain staging. I've ordered some new five channel mixer PCBs of my own design to facilitate working with the 4 tap delay program, along with some simple eBay function generator boards to get me...

DIY or cheap onboard buffer opinions?

Just curious: what's the best noise floor you've measured for an actual electric guitar or bass?

Digital BBD concept looking for comments and beta testers

I had to build up a second feedback mixer, the first one had stability issues. I may have herked the SMD opamp during hand soldering, which thankfully has only rarely happened over the last several years. Spent an hour or two tracking that down, whipped up a new board, and everything acts as...

Digital BBD concept looking for comments and beta testers

I'm finally up and running now, everything looks stable and quite clean on my scope. Just sleeping on my initial feedback configuration for a basic two tap delay tester, hope to be making noise tomorrow.

    Need epoxy for potting

I've used this and a few other of their products with excellent results: https://atomadhesives.com/aa-bond-2112-bk-rigid-black-epoxy-encapsulation-compound-2-part-staking-room-temp-or-heat-cure/ I'd ping their tech support about recommended fillers for thickening, on their or your end, for 2212...

Digital BBD concept looking for comments and beta testers

I'm one of those weirdos who loves and frequently used stereo live rigs back when I was still gigging, even on bass. In the grand scheme of what I'd like to do with this chip, morphing stereo soundstages would be at or near the top of the list, either via pedal control or other means. The...

An Idea for a Universal Input Buffer/Booster (onboard)

Sounds all too familiar. Nice timing though, as I'm currently gearing up to do a new buffer for the acoustic guitar I just bought. It has one of those janky plastic boxes on the upper bout, and JST connectors for all the wiring, so a pretty easy retrofit from the looks of it.

An Idea for a Universal Input Buffer/Booster (onboard)

The just depends. If you do the math on the loading given by a 250k volume pot, 250k tone control plus associated cap, and typical 300k-1Meg amp input, all more or less in parallel, not necessarily. ;)

    Anyone built rack units?

This was part of my scary stereo bass/guitar/guitar synth rig at one time:

DIY Hughes & Kettner type faceplate?

Their customer service is usually pretty excellent, I've even received responses straight from the CEO a few times. I would also run it by Amplifyfun, as @Cybercow suggested. Spencer's prices are usually very good and he definitely does great work.

DIY Hughes & Kettner type faceplate?

Front Panel Express offers red Perspex, but they also accept many other types of panel stock if you send it to them.

    Anyone built rack units?

Not necessarily, I just managed to cop a bunch of really nice toroids for dirt cheap. The "desktop" amp in the last link uses the built in SMPS in the ICEpower power amp board and sounds just as good as any of the other builds, but the earlier Icepower amps had kind of so-so aux power supplies...

    Anyone built rack units?

I've done a few, both solid state and tube. Par Metal and HiFi 2000 (Modushop) enclosures, some boards from Tube CAD or Rod Elliot before I just started rolling my own, faceplates from Front Panel Express ($$$), and then usually Mouser and/or Digikey for most of the parts. I also tend to use at...

    KiCad v8 released

Thanks for the heads up. Downloaded and installed it last night, I will be especially interested to see how the sim interface integrates with the schematic editor. Bouncing between LTspice and the KiCAD schematic has always been a PITA, so I'm hopeful.

    Bass DI pedalboard

All good, I am still dragging my feet a little on the final details, such as the footswitchable version's graphics package. It's all done and ready to go, but I'm sleeping on things for a few more days before putting it on Github in case any improvements present themselves.

    Bass DI pedalboard

If you want to contribute anything to the open source aspect of this, great! A standardized little sub enclosure for each module would be a great addition too, just sayin'. To get boards fabbed you can either just use the OSHpark share links directly, or download the fabrication Gerbers from...

    Bass DI pedalboard

I can't not at least mention this DIY option then: https://github.com/Passinwind/PW3B-LPF/blob/main/README.md The V4 is the flagship model for the moment and if you can handle some relatively easy SMD soldering it's a pretty swell EQ solution for bass, IMNSHO. V5 will probably have a DI, phase...

    Bass DI pedalboard

Cool. A few of the band geeks from our local high school's jazz big band used to come out occasionally to an open mic I ran: They'd do hip hop, full on funk, and whatever else they felt like pulling out, very little of which was actual jazz. It always went over really well, and I got to take...
