AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I don't have the real one in hand yet. This report is from building based on the schematic and using BAT48 for Schottky. But, I will open the real one and trace it to make sure it's accurate. In general, I've found the fewer the gain stages, the more I like the AMT pedals. I don't like anything...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Just had a practice with the O2. It's fantastic. Not as high gain as most AMT pedals. It's really great sounding. Tight. Clear. Not high gain but would be great with with a preboost pedal added. Really impressed with it. It might end up in the center position of my combo pedal.

New SpinCAD release pending - I ain't too proud to beg.

Yep. I have a spacialist bought from pedalpcb that I've built to play with reverb options.

New SpinCAD release pending - I ain't too proud to beg.

Just saw this thread and definitely sponsored for $50. I'm still very new to FV-1 and have an idea I want to pursue... The FV-1 can do most all the effects I want on my board. So, I made a PCB with the 8-postion rotary in a small foot print to add to my combo pedal. The idea is to have be "dial...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

By the way, read my posts on page 8 of that thread. There are two mistakes in the schematics in the clean channel (mislabled cap) and the cabsim (mislabeled transistors in the push-pull output section. Also, the for proper frequency response, it needs different component values than are used in...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Just built an O2 per the above schematic. It has one less gain stage than B2/C2/E2/K2/M2. The O2 sounds really good and has a very wide range of gain on the gain control and it greatly affects volume at the same time. This is different than the other pedals that have another gain stage. The gain...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I built two gain stages on a bread board, one with J177 and one without. Both have 15k drain resistor, 820R source resistor and 220k gate resistor. The J177 is actually sharpening the clipping rather than softening. Here's a picture. Yellow is input, red is no J177 and blue is with J177. This is...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I believe it is emulating tube saturation. The softer clipping as a tube triode is pushed to higher currents. It's softer because it's not a hard clip like you get with a diode or LED in the feedback of an op-amp. Tubes, of course, will hard clip in the other direction as plate current lowers...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I'm happy to see it has the same number of gain stages as B2/C2/E2/K2/M2. It will work directly in the PCB I've already made for those.

Dang it! I just ordered one! :) I guess I can compare and verify now...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Yes. Sounds great from the cab. This enabled having the cabsim in the combo pedal, then send from there to wet effects and power amp with XLR at the end.

I think I did see it in there... But I wouldn't bet a dollar on it.

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Love it after tweaking the frequency response to match the real one. Still baffles me why I needed significantly different component values get a match. Both us guitar players in the band use them and get complements on our tone. But, we still use both use a 2x12 behind us and the the cabsim...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Don't know if you've seen my combo build thread. I've made a handful of PCBs for the AMT series (and many other things). I have a generic PCB for AMT LA2 pedals that fits in a 125B but meant to be the center of my combo pedal. I've not shared the fully generic PCB on PCBWay as yet but I'm...

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

Pin 1 on the 1054 should not be shorted to pin 8. Should be left unconnected. But they should be shorted using 1044S or 7660S. There sure are a lot of variations of these things...

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

That's right. I just updated my muzzle schematic and PCB to this... Two chips are shown only because I have both SMD and DIP footprints. The SMD footprint sits within the DIP-8 and has a jumper to short pin 1 to pin 8 so I can use just about anything...

Combo build for pedal board core: Pre-boost, Clean/drive channel, cabsim, noise-gate, post boost.

FYI, I've updated the gerber file and BOM to ICL7660S instead of the ICL7660. I noticed a whine in the signal path on one of the built boards and it's coming from the ICL7660, which has an internal oscillator that can range from 5kHz to 10kHz. If you ordered the original board, please use LT1054...
