thanks - makes a lot of sense now We have a research project that has a BGA component and we were asking a local house to just solder the device for us - and he mentioned the rails. Had we just asked him initially to do the boards AND mount the device he would have just added the rails himself...

Thanks - so its basically making the board a bit "bigger" non-functional perimeter for the handling. - yes? They always seem to show it (in the examples) as panelized, I guess thats to make things cheaper but not really anything to do with the "rail" requirements.

YES YES - and *please* make them just a *tiny* bit smaller to fit a 1590b. All of my projects I've managed to shoehorn the 125B pcbs into 1590Bs and use top mount jacks and power (lumberg jacks work). Sometimes sanding down the insides (2.25" boards) , sometimes cutting the sides of enclosures...

I tried building some of tle LM386 circuits and found them extremely noisy and tending to oscillation. Wound up picking up RF radio stations. Had much better luck with the TDA7052 circuits.

Are the Tayda standard 16mm same as or as good as the Alpha? Anyone have issues with either? Just curious - they look the same - likely from the same factory.

Maybe stupid question but I dont have schematic... the four1uF electrolytic caps - short on them right now but have 2.2uF - ok to use or is anything going to blow up etc?! Or even 1uF film?
