AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I built two gain stages on a bread board, one with J177 and one without. Both have 15k drain resistor, 820R source resistor and 220k gate resistor. The J177 is actually sharpening the clipping rather than softening. Here's a picture. Yellow is input, red is no J177 and blue is with J177. This is...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I believe it is emulating tube saturation. The softer clipping as a tube triode is pushed to higher currents. It's softer because it's not a hard clip like you get with a diode or LED in the feedback of an op-amp. Tubes, of course, will hard clip in the other direction as plate current lowers...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I'm happy to see it has the same number of gain stages as B2/C2/E2/K2/M2. It will work directly in the PCB I've already made for those.

Dang it! I just ordered one! :) I guess I can compare and verify now...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Yes. Sounds great from the cab. This enabled having the cabsim in the combo pedal, then send from there to wet effects and power amp with XLR at the end.

I think I did see it in there... But I wouldn't bet a dollar on it.

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Love it after tweaking the frequency response to match the real one. Still baffles me why I needed significantly different component values get a match. Both us guitar players in the band use them and get complements on our tone. But, we still use both use a 2x12 behind us and the the cabsim...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Don't know if you've seen my combo build thread. I've made a handful of PCBs for the AMT series (and many other things). I have a generic PCB for AMT LA2 pedals that fits in a 125B but meant to be the center of my combo pedal. I've not shared the fully generic PCB on PCBWay as yet but I'm...

Found... Now I'm looking for an O2. https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?t=26365&start=120

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

Pin 1 on the 1054 should not be shorted to pin 8. Should be left unconnected. But they should be shorted using 1044S or 7660S. There sure are a lot of variations of these things...

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

That's right. I just updated my muzzle schematic and PCB to this... Two chips are shown only because I have both SMD and DIP footprints. The SMD footprint sits within the DIP-8 and has a jumper to short pin 1 to pin 8 so I can use just about anything...

Combo build for pedal board core: Pre-boost, Clean/drive channel, cabsim, noise-gate, post boost.

FYI, I've updated the gerber file and BOM to ICL7660S instead of the ICL7660. I noticed a whine in the signal path on one of the built boards and it's coming from the ICL7660, which has an internal oscillator that can range from 5kHz to 10kHz. If you ordered the original board, please use LT1054...

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

The 7660S seems to be the cheapest option and must tie pin 1 to pin 8 to boost to 35kHz. Same for 1044S, which is 50% more expensive. Doesn't matter which 1054 you get. Those trailing letters of the part number are operating temperature range. The C version should be cheaper for 0-70C...

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

Not to pile on... But never use a 7660. 1054 are perfect, just use them. But, you can use the 1044S and connect pin 1 (the boost pin) to V+ to use 45kHz oscillator. I've made the mistake of using 7660 in a muzzle and, with the raw guitar line connecting to it's key... Whine. EDIT: I see the...

I'm hunting for the R2 schematic or a reasonably priced used R2 I can trace myself... Thanks.

9V protections for projects with a voltage doubler (muzzle, klon...)

Just want to point out there is a fundamental difference between the two over-voltage protection circuits above. Mine is just a linear regulator and will continue to send out 9V under over voltage, which is what I wanted for my embedded Muzzle because I'm feeding 18V to my combo pedal for most...

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

Since I've had good luck in the past with the following link for modules, I decided to test it again. This time, one board has a TPA3118 and one had a TPA3130 (half the power output of a 3118). Getting modules you can be sure are real is a crapshoot. These both seem to be real but wrong version...

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

FYI, I've found building these that active pickups through various preamp pedals can cause clipping at the input of my power amp circuits. I have this circuit at the input of the power amp circuits. The original design calls for 330k at R5 but I've had to reduce this to 130k for hot pickups...

Combo build for pedal board core: Pre-boost, Clean/drive channel, cabsim, noise-gate, post boost.

Here's the one for my buddy Joe. He was the guy that first said a combo with all the best stuff would be awesome... This one has an AMT E2 in the middle and a sherrif (bobby) as the preboost. Update: I've since swapped in an O2 instead of E2. The O2 drive channel is really articulate and great...
