Guitar Build Wood Screw Disaster... Help?

there are a lot of small screw extractors (not sure what size you have) - they require a steady hand but do work. This one is more but supposedly made in USA so may be a bit better - cheaper ones may work too extractor cheaper one

    First Oscilloscope Recommendations

I have the older original AD for my "home" use. I of course had to (in the spirit of pedal building) made a "case" for it out of an old LabView SCSI breakout box

    First Oscilloscope Recommendations

100% agree. Any of the Analog Discovery - would work great. Two waveform generators, 2 channels isolated input scopes, digital - can measure noise, impedance, even frequency response sweeps. Super capable. python scripting, or in-app java scripting of the software. Check out the waveforms...

Converting 9V DC to 9V AC

I think the L5 is +/-15VDC right? you would probably not want to go 9VDC -- 9 VAC -- (+/-15VDC) something like this just go from the 9VDC to (+/-15 VDC) Not sure if the mA is enough https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832630848518.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt&_randl_shipto=US

Build an Opamp from Discrete Parts

I think I found the article: "Wow! A $227 gouge. (You couldn’t call it a “rip-off” because the phrase hadn’t been invented, but perhaps that is the only reason….) Obviously, this must be a very profitable circuit. Every competitor—and many customers—realized that the P2 must cost a rather small...

Build an Opamp from Discrete Parts

That P2 was really interesting. There's an article somewhere about it - the 3d arrangement had capacitance coupling (I believe unintentionally)- not on the schematic - and when people tried duplicating the circuit they couldn;t get it to work. It relied on the physical arrangement of parts! I...

Build an Opamp from Discrete Parts

I have some of the Philbrick stuff.... cool museum pieces https://www.electronicdesign.com/technologies/components/article/21802868/an-amateurs-view-on-the-p2-part-1 Sporting input bias currents in the picoampere range (1x10-12), the P2 cost $220, which was 1/8 to 1/2 (my source for this...

    1590B Top Mounted Jacks

yeah the aluminum is ~0.040" thick and I do the iron on transfer method for the lettering. Some of the boards are too wide - in the Ember I shaved the inside with a drill press mounted sanding drum. Or I sometimes have to cut the sides and put on a silver panel. All part of the "look" ;)...

    Korg oscilloscope?

If you're ok with using a PC (Win/Linux) you *cannot* beat an Analog Discovery Diglient USB scope. Function Generator, Scope, Frequency Response, spectrum analyizer, impedance, transistor, scripting, python support, etc, etc. Amazing tool. You can get a used one on ebay for less than $200...

Those of you who use Dale resistors…

Well when you have a defunct RD lab from the 80s-90s and there are THOUSANDS (hundreds and hundreds of boxes of 100s) in cabinets all over gathering dust...... sometimes you dont get all the values, but there are a lot of em. seems a shame that they wind up in a landfill somewhere. I've seen...
